Healing of Memories

Lord Jesus, I invite You into my memory. Into the places I have locked away. Into the moments I try not to think about. Into the scenes that replay without my permission — in the quiet of the night, in the middle of a normal day, triggered by a sound or a smell or a word. "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?" — Isaiah 43:18-19 Lord, I do not ask You to erase my memories. They are part of my story, and my story is in Your hands. But I ask You to remove the sting. To defuse the bomb that detonates every time I remember.
